About the Artwork:
Each animation is created using a generative art algorithm and a programming language called GLSL. These shader programs are the result of a collaboration between the artist and the computer. The artist develops mathematical formulas which describe shapes, colors, and coordinates to the computer. The computer interprets the final formula and draws the final piece by repetitively accessing and re-drawing each pixel on the screen 30 to 60 times per second. Slight variations in a formula can result in vast visual shifts which often leads the artist into a feedback loop with the computer. Due to this process each animation is the result of a co-creation between artist and machine
